Q-Collar Week in Review (3/4/24) - Q30

This week was yet another exciting week for athletes wearing the Q-Collar. Check out some of their highlights below.

NCAA Men’s Lacrosse:

  • University of North Carolina Attackman Owen Duffy scored 6 total goals across the Tar Heels’ two games this week, a loss to Princeton University and a victory over PENN. Four of those goals came in the first half of the Tar Heels’ game against Princeton (#1, #2, #3, #4). Duffy also logged 2 total assists across the two games.
  • Princeton University Attackman Nate Kibiri scored 4 total goals, including this top-corner snipe, and logged 1 total assist across the Tigers’ two games, a victory over the University of North Carolina and a loss to Duke University. Kibiri’s teammate, Attackman Colin Burns, netted 5 total goals across the two games.
  • Duke University Attackman Brennan O’Neill scored 3 total goals (#1, #2, #3) and logged 2 total assists, including this feed on the run, across the Blue Devils’ two games, a loss to UPENN and a victory over Princeton University.
  • UPENN Midfielder James Shipley scored 4 total goals, including one off this leaping finish and one off of this unassisted effort, and logged 1 assist across the Quakers’ two games, a victory over Duke University and a loss to the University of North Carolina. Shipley’s teammate, Midfielder Chris Canet, tallied 1 assist across the two games.
  • Notre Dame Attackman Pat Kavanagh netted one incredible behind-the-back goal, logged 3 assists, and caused 4 turnovers in the Fighting Irish’s 14-9 victory over the University of Maryland.
  • University of Albany Attackman Silas Richmond scored 2 goals (#1, #2) and logged 2 assists in the Great Danes’ 12-11 overtime loss to UMASS-Amherst. Richmond’s teammate, Midfielder Chris Crapanzano, also netted two goals (#1, #2) in the loss. Midfielder Greydon Hogg scored an additional goal as well.
  • On the opposition, UMASS-Amherst Faceoff Specialist Caleb Hammet scored an unassisted goal off a face-off to give the Minutemen a 12-11 overtime victory over the University of Albany.
  • Georgetown University Midfielder Will Godine recovered 2 ground balls in the Hoyas’ 11-5 victory over Brown University.

NCAA Women’s Lacrosse:

  • University of Maryland Goalkeeper Emily Sterling made 10 saves, including this stop that led to a Maryland goal, in the Terps’ 10-8 victory over the University of Denver. Sterling’s teammate, Midfielder Shaylan Ahearn, recorded 7 draw controls in the win.
  • University of Florida Goalkeeper Georgia Hoey made 8 saves in the Gators’ 22-6 win over Arizona State University.
  • Syracuse University Defender Katie Goodale recovered 4 ground balls, logged 3 draw controls, and caused 3 turnovers in the Orange’s 15-8 win over Duke University.

MLS Soccer:

  • San Jose Earthquakes Striker Jeremy Ebobisse started and contributed to the Earthquakes’ offensive efforts in their 3-1 loss to the LA Galaxy.
  • FC Dallas Defender Omar Gonzalez started and played all 90 mins of their 2-1 loss to CF Montreal.

2024 CONCAF Women’s Gold Cup Soccer:

  • Team Costa Rica Midfielder Rocky Rodriguez stated and played all 90 minutes of both of Costa Rica’s matches, a group stage loss to Canada and then a Quarterfinals loss to Canada in the 2024 CONCAF Women’s Gold Cup.

NCAA Ice Hockey:

  • UMASS-Amherst Forward Lucas Vanroboys went 4 for 9 on faceoff attempts across the Minutemen’s two games this week, a pair of victories over UMASS-Lowell.
